David Nickelson, PsyD, JD

Trained as a behavioral scientist, clinical psychologist and attorney, Dr. Nickelson has focused on helping individuals, groups and organizations transform to improve performance, efficiency and effectiveness for over two decades..

During that time, he has developed, delivered and coached transformational leaders, programs and organizations in a variety of settings and executive, senior consultant and contractor roles.

Dr. Nickelson has worked with, or for, over 100 Fortune 500 firms across multiple industries, bringing cross-industry innovations and best practices to bear in new, unique and powerful ways that measurably improve individual, group and business performance.

Dr. Nickelson has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cites; a Master of Arts (MA) in Clinical Psychology from the Widener University Institute of Graduate Clinical Psychology; a Juris Doctorate (cum laude)(JD) from the Widener University – Delaware Law School; and a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from the Widener University Institute of Graduate Clinical Psychology.

Dr. Nickelson is a recipient of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)/American Psychological Association (APA) Congressional Science & Technology Policy Fellowship, and served in the United States Senate as a Congressional Science Fellow, and later as a Legislative Assistant, to the Hon. Senator Kent Conrad, (D-ND) developing policy, law and regulations to help kick-start the digital health industry.

Carol Williams- Nickelson, PsyD

Dr. Williams-Nickelson has 20+ years of diverse experience as a nonprofit leader, consultant and psychologist. As the chief executive of national nonprofit psychology, medicine and social service organizations, she has dedicated her career to making quality, affordable healthcare services accessible to all and preparing the next generation of socially-conscious psychologists and physicians to competently care for the whole person.

As a transformative business leader and organizational consultant, Dr. Williams-Nickelson works with corporations and nonprofits to create and maintain a culture of excellence and to innovate in the areas of strategic planning, educational programming, training/testing/certification for professional competency, communications/marketing, advocacy, conferences, fundraising, partnerships, and board and leadership development — all with an emphasis on building inclusive environments, empowering diverse teams, mentoring staff and leaders in the pipeline, managing workplace change, and scaling organizations to anticipate and respond to future needs.

Her background also includes providing direct services in hospitals, residential treatment centers, psychiatric facilities, counseling centers, community-based organizations, schools, the juvenile justice system, the military and in law enforcement.

As a national leader, consultant and activist, Dr. Williams-Nickelson has chaired and served on Boards of Directors for many charities, educational institutions and nonprofits. She is well-published in her field and has delivered numerous presentations at professional and scientific conferences on topics related to her research and areas of expertise, such as mentoring, developing leaders, empowering girls and women’s psychological health, the application of psychology in non-clinical settings, the education and training of psychologists and physicians, and behavioral health interventions with specialized populations.

Dr. Williams-Nickelson has taught graduate and undergraduate psychology courses at several universities, and has been a guest lecturer at many colleges and institutions across the nation. She is the recipient of numerous awards for her leadership and contributions to advancing the fields of psychology and medicine. She received her B.S. in Psychology from Brigham Young University and both her M.S. and Psy.D. degrees from Our Lady of the Lake University. Dr. Williams-Nickelson continues to champion the needs of underserved populations by working to eliminate mental health stigma, promote health, and help organizations deliver quality services, programs, products and resources.
